Shuar Shot comes from Waquitos in Ecuador, a cooperative of over 150 Shuar coffee producers in Ecuador.\u00a0 The Shuar were once known for shrinking heads.\u00a0 Now they are expert coffee producers.\u00a0 This coffee producing initiative is part of Ecuador’s attempt to increase development in a way that benefits and protects indigenous communities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Processing<\/h4>\n
This coffee is a washed process.\u00a0 That means the farmers wash the coffee cherry off the bean with water before the drying process.\u00a0 Washed processes have a clean finish without the linger.\u00a0 They also tend towards chocolatey and nutty notes, as well as the smooth body of Shuar Shot.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Roast Level<\/h4>\n

Shuar Shot is a City Roast.\u00a0 We pull our City Roasts from the roaster just as the bean turns a chocolatey color.\u00a0 At this stage, the coffee’s authentic flavors shine without any smokiness or oil.\u00a0 This Ecuadorian coffee is on the light side of medium where the caramelly sweetness comes through.\u00a0 This roast level balances baker’s chocolate with a bright acidity.<\/p>\n
